Engine For Toyota 2KD-FTV
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The 2.5-liter Toyota 2KD-FTV engine has been produced since 2001 at the company’s Japanese plant and is used in large Hilux pickups, Fortuner and 4Runner SUVs, and Innova minivans. For basic modifications of minibuses and pickups, there is an atmospheric version of 102 hp.
The engine was installed on:
●Toyota 4Runner 4 (N210) in 2002 – 2006;
●Toyota Fortuner AN60 in 2004 – 2015; Fortuner 2 (AN160) since 2015;
●Toyota Hilux 6 (N140) in 2001 – 2005; Hilux 7 (AN10) in 2005 – 2015; Hilux 8 (AN120) since 2015;
●Toyota Innova 1 (AN40) in 2004 – 2015; Innova 2 (AN140) since 2015.

Disadvantages of the 2KD-FTV engine
●Prior to 2011, there was a problem with aluminum pistons cracking.
●Its nozzles do not digest bad fuel and can give up to 100 thousand km.
●Most often, floating engine speeds go away after adjusting valve clearances.
●This engine is prone to oil combustion due to coking and ring sticking.
●Many owners complain about its too noisy operation, strong vibrations.
