COMPLETE ENGINE for : Engine Mercedes M271 E16
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The Mercedes M271 E16 engine was produced from 2008 to 2011 and was developed on the basis of the M271 E18 cylinder block, where the corresponding short-stroke crankshaft was installed (the stroke was reduced to 75.6 mm). The M271 E16 is a 1597cc inline 4-cylinder petrol engine.
R4 Mercedes engines: M102, M111, M166, M254, M260, M264, M266, M270, M271 E16, M271 E18, M274, M282.
The cylinder block is cast from aluminum with cast-iron sleeves poured into it. At the bottom of the block is a Lanchester balancing mechanism with two balancing shafts and an integrated oil pump.

Disadvantages of the M271 E16 engine
The most famous engine problem is the stuck exhaust valves due to soot.
In second place is the unreliable timing chain, which can stretch up to 100,000 km.
This is followed by frequent lubricant leaks from the oil filter housing or heat exchanger.
The crankcase ventilation system quickly becomes dirty, so much so that the tubes burst.
A proprietary malfunction of the EVO series engines is the ingress of fuel into the oil.
