Disadvantages of the VW CAVD engine

This turbo engine is very demanding on fuel quality and is prone to detonation.
Like all direct injection units, it suffers from carbon deposits on the valves.
The timing chain is distinguished by a modest resource, often it is changed even up to 100 thousand km.
Oil burning is not so common here, but there are still enough complaints about oil consumption.
The weak points of the motor include the wastegate of the turbine and the regularly leaking intercooler.
