    Disadvantages of the Land Rover 204PT engine

     This is a direct injection turbo unit and it is very demanding on fuel quality.
     The use of low-quality gasoline often leads to detonation and destruction of pistons.
     Exhaust manifold welds can burst and their fragments will ruin the turbine.
     Another weak point of the motor is the unreliable Ti-VCT phase regulators.
     Leaks from under the rear crankshaft oil seal are also quite common.
